Back injury#1797

Hi I have a back injury from 3 years ago that has healed I believe, but I have taken it really slow in getting active again. I was pff my feet for a year and it really brought me back to have to begin all over again. I fractured my T-11. It was in 2023 This is the year I get fit again and get moving again in a routine.
Will you have certain exercises that take this sort of injury into account for hurt backs on the app? Or maybe recovery after injury exercises?

Hey. This is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.

First off, glad you’re moving again after something like that. A T-11 fracture is no joke, so taking it slow was probably the smart move anyway.

As for the app, right now it’s more general fitness focused, so it’s not really built as a rehab app specifically for those past spinal injuries. But a lot of the easier progressions and slower build-up style can still work really well for people coming back after injuries because you can scale things way down and build gradually.

I do think having more injury-recovery-focused options in the future would be a really good addition though, especially for backs, knees, shoulders, and stuff like that. You’re definitely not the only person wanting that but for now, I’d just be careful about rushing intensity, especially with spinal loading or movements that irritate your back

I just began my workouts and scaled it down to almost beginner. It just feels good to get going again. I tend to be an all or nothing kind of girl, because a little is not much or not enough, but right now I am surrendering to the fact that I need to take it slow to begin and small steps instead of jumping in hardcore is OK . I will be strong again in a new way. Not expecting the old…The little emails are encouraging. I like what you guys are doing with the app. It really is user friendly and I feel a good push…nudge…and can tell Hampton and the team care.
