Hello, I’m doing leg raises but because of the hight of my pull up bar my knees are bent at 70-80 degrees when I’m hanging. So I can’t start from fully extended legs. It makes the movement quite awkward as I have to bring my legs up enough then bend them out then bring my legs up. What can I do to remedy this?

Hey, Chrys here. One of the trainers at Hybrid.
Easiest fix is just bend your knees slightly from the start and treat it like a bent knee raise. You don’t need a perfectly straight start position. Keep it smooth and controlled.
If it still feels awkward, you can do lying leg raises on the floor or tuck raises instead. Same muscles, way cleaner setup. Also, don’t force the full hang position if the bar height doesn’t allow it. Adjust the variation so the movement stays clean.

Thank you for the suggestions.
The partials/bent knee raises still felt quite awkward. And I didn’t want to go back to an exercise I already did for a while. In the end I found it best to hold a chin up so I had enough room to fully extend my legs.
