Generally very pleased with the app, but have discovered that I can not do even 1 jackknife squat without pain and stiffness in my knees. Even easier variations to work on joint flexibility and strength to get to full range of motion are needed! Love your content and look forward to being able to do it all someday.

Hey, Chrys here. One of the trainers at Hybrid.
If jackknife squats cause knee pain, don’t force them. That’s a clear signal to step back and build capacity first. Stick with pain free squat variations like assisted squats using a chair or doorframe, partial range squats where you only go as deep as feels comfortable, and slow squat holds at a shallow depth. Those will build joint tolerance, strength, and confidence without aggravating your knees.
You can also pair that with gentle knee friendly work like controlled sit to stands, supported split squats with very short range, and light mobility for ankles and hips, since those often limit squat depth and shift stress to the knees.
