Only Six Exercises?#1727

Y

I’m a beginner, and I’m looking to build all my muscle groups. I just wanted to know if this workout covered all the major muscle groups. If not, what other exercises can I do in addition to these primary 6? Another question about these 6 exercises and their sets and reps. Aren’t we supposed to work out for 30 min to 1 hour a day?

Hey, this is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.
Yes, the six core movements cover all the major muscle groups. Push-ups handle chest, shoulders, and triceps. Pull-ups or rows cover the back and biceps. Squats hit quads and glutes. Bridges take care of glutes and hamstrings. Leg raises train the core and hip flexors. Twists handle rotation and obliques. That’s a full-body foundation. Nothing important is missing for a beginner.

You don’t need to add extra exercises right now. Adding more usually just spreads your effort thinner. Once you’ve progressed these movements and they’re genuinely challenging, that’s when accessories or skill work make sense. Early on, getting stronger at the basics does more than chasing variety.

As for workout length, 30 to 60 minutes is a guideline, not a rule. If your sessions are shorter but the sets are focused, close to your current limit, and you’re recovering well, that’s enough. Beginners especially don’t need long workouts to grow since quality and consistency beat duration every time.
