Routine#1700

?

I’ve been thinking of doing this type of routine that I thought of in my head where I do 1 set of the exercises that I’m doing right variation 1 throughout the day for example doing one set of wall push ups do some other stuff then do another set of wall push ups until I hit the standards which is 150 wall push ups. I figure that since im doing easiest variations of exercises I can just do them throughout the day and I feel like that would make me stronger but I don’t know if that would work or not but can you give me some feedback?

Also I think this routine will work more with me so I can just focus on 1 exercise every day

Hey. This is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.

So it depends on the goal. Doing single sets spread through the day is basically grease-the-groove. It’s great for practicing a movement, building coordination, and getting comfortable with an exercise without beating yourself up. It can help you get better at that specific movement, especially with easier variations.

That said, it’s not the best way to build strength long term. Strength usually comes from doing focused sets close together with some fatigue involved, then letting your body recover. If you only do one exercise per day and spread it out all day, you’ll likely stall once the movement stops being challenging.

If this approach helps you stay consistent, you can use it as a short phase or for skill practice, but I’d still recommend keeping at least a few proper sessions where you train multiple movements in one workout. Think of this as a tool, not a full replacement for structured training.
