I’m confused on how I’m strong for example to do full push ups with good form but I can only do 27 wall push ups in the first set. Why is that?

Hey. This is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.
That actually makes sense. Wall pushups aren’t just an “easier pushup,” they change the leverage and keep your muscles under tension longer. You don’t get to use momentum, and your shoulders and stabilizers stay working the entire time, so they fatigue differently. Full pushups let you reset a bit more at the bottom and use your body as one solid unit, which is why you can do more there so it’s not that you’re weaker. It’s just a different demand. Being strong at one variation doesn’t always mean high reps transfer cleanly to another, even if it looks easier on paper.
