Wall bridges neck/shoulder pain#1678

?

Hello!
Is it normal to feel discomfort/pain in the neck and shoulders during wall bridges? These are the main things that prevent me from doing more reps.
Thank you!

Hey. This is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.

A little tightness in the neck and shoulders is normal when you’re new to wall bridges, but actual discomfort or pain usually means you’re pushing the load into the wrong areas. Most of the work should come from your hips, glutes, and upper back not your neck. Try keeping your chin slightly tucked and walk your hands a little closer to shoulder height so your chest opens instead of you “pressing” through your neck. Move slow, keep your breath steady, and stay in a range that feels safe.
