I (M 32) am unable to sit upright with my legs stretched for the twist. when i try anyway the hand in front touching the knee is barely feeling anything and the hand at the back has all the load. Whatever position I acheive I can hold indefinitely, but I dont feel any stretch
Can someone suggest what I can as an Level 0 to prepare for this ?
maybe a picture of what it looks like helps:

Hey. This is Chrys, one of the trainers at Hybrid.
If you can’t sit upright with your legs stretched, that usually points to tight hamstrings and hips limiting your posture. When that happens, the twist probably won’t even feel like much because your spine can’t stack tall enough to rotate cleanly—you end up just leaning back on the rear hand. A good Level 0 prep is to work on getting comfortable in an upright seated position first. You can start with seated hamstring stretches but bend your knees a little so you can keep your back straight. Over time, you can slowly extend the legs more. 90/90 hip stretches and seated straddle stretches with bent knees also help loosen the hips so upright posture feels natural.
In the meantime, you don’t have to force the floor twist. Try doing seated twists in a chair with your feet flat—rotate gently while staying tall. That lets you practice the spinal rotation part without fighting tight hamstrings. As your flexibility improves, you’ll find the floor version starts to feel like an actual stretch instead of just propping yourself up on your arms.
Keep me in the loop as you practice. I can guide you through it
