a few important questions :)#1524

Hello, I have a few questions related to training plan 2.0.

  1. If I previously (a few months ago) did abdominal exercises for 10 minutes every day, then I added other exercises and did them for 10 minutes 2/3 times a week, should I add them now with training plan 2.0 (if so, how many times a week) or will the others be enough ?
  2. If I go bouldering once a week for about 1.5 hours (with breaks between boulders), should I skip the exercises, reduce their intensity (i.e. how many sets then?) Or do them anyway?
    1. I also have to do exercises from a physiotherapist that last about 25 minutes (if I hurry), can I just add them to training plan 2.0 and how many times a week could I do them then?
  3. After how many weeks should I increase the difficulty of the exercises?

Good evening! Chrys here, one of the trainers at Hybrid! If you were previously doing daily ab work and additional exercises a few times a week, you can integrate them into Hybrid if you still feel fresh and not overloaded. Start with 2-3 days a week and adjust based on recovery. The Hybrid Routine already has solid core work, so you might not need as much extra ab training.

For bouldering, it depends on how intense your sessions are. If you’re pushing hard, consider reducing upper body intensity in your Hybrid workouts the day before or after. You could drop the volume (fewer sets) or shift focus to lower body and mobility to balance things out.

Your physiotherapy exercises can be added on off days or as part of your warm-up/cool-down if they don’t interfere with your main workouts. If they’re for injury prevention or rehab, they should take priority over extra training.

As for progression, a good rule of thumb is every 3-4 weeks, or when you can comfortably hit the higher rep range with good form. If things feel too easy, move up sooner. If you’re struggling, give it more time!
