Hello. I want to lose fat and gain strength . I cannot eat anything of non veg due to some skin issues . Can i lose fat by doing calisthenics ?
Yes, you can absolutely lose fat and gain strength with calisthenics, even on a vegetarian diet. Losing fat primarily comes down to being in a calorie deficit, which means burning more calories than you consume. Calisthenics is great for this because it combines strength training with a natural calorie burn through bodyweight movements.
Focus on progressive overload in your workouts—gradually making exercises more challenging over time—to build muscle, which helps increase your metabolism. Combine this with a balanced vegetarian diet rich in protein (from sources like lentils, beans, tofu, tempeh, and nuts), healthy fats, and complex carbs.
Since your skin issues limit certain foods, try incorporating plant-based protein powders or supplements if you’re struggling to meet your protein needs. Pair calisthenics with some cardio like walking, running, or cycling to amplify fat loss while maintaining strength.
