I am 43 yrs old 6’5 230lbs 19% bfp. I have always struggled with pull-ups. Even When i was in great physical shape serving in the Marines I still struggled to the point it cost me promotions. They just order you to jump on the bar and execute the movement with no real instruction or mindfulness of lat engagement or connection. If i am able to gather momentum i can knock out a few reps but my goal is 10 dead hang pullups. I’ve tried to increase reps with resistance bands and inverted rows and no real progress. My lats feel more defined but i still cannot do a dead hang pull - up. I feel I’m lacking in scapula strength. I am open to dropping bodyweight to achieve this goal. Can you please help?

Dropping bodyweight will help. What will help a ton though are isometric holds. Go for time in the low, mid and high positions and try to beat your times every other day and youll notice quite the improvement in 30 days!
